MISSION
Lightwork Image Performance makes theatre using mixed-media technologies. We aim to present work that is pleasurable and thought-provoking and that contributes to innovations in multidisciplinary performance.
We see a fusion of the live and the recorded as part of a performance language for sharing twenty-first-century concerns with our audiences. To this end we explore the potential of digital technologies as a resource for contemporary theatre-making.
Lightwork is artist-led and all performances are collectively devised. We foster creative collaboration by involving a range of practitioners — performers, designers, technical specialists and writers — as primary artists in the workshop creation of our productions.
Lightwork shares its work at stages during its creation. We do this to maximise opportunities for cross-disciplinary collaboration amongst our makers and to solicit audience feedback as an integral part of our system of development. Through these stages of refinement we aim to ensure high-quality production outcomes and a responsive relationship with our audiences.
