Lightwork makes contemporary and experimental theatre and performance. We make work that is pleasurable and thought-provoking. We explore new modes of production and communication, creating performances that are fresh, surprising and innovative. More about the Company...
The Good Actor is about acting, performing, being real, telling the truth, pretending and lying. It looks back to Victorian melodrama and delves into reality TV and computer games, to tell the story of an actor who conceals a guilty secret.
Lightwork is developing The Good Actor as a theatre piece, an installation and a series of short online videos.
The installation is performed for the first time as part of Digital Stages festival at Hoxton Hall on 26 April 2011.

Lightwork and Parrabbola are developing a multimedia production of Shakespeare's The Tempest. The project builds on our scratch co-production at the Gdansk Shakespeare Festival, 2009. It features surveillance technology in a production about power, confinement and release.
